Located in a remote corner of southeastern Tuscany, Tenuta di Trinoro specializes in rich, age-worthy red wines made of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. The 200-hectare estate sits in viticultural isolation – where Tuscany meets Umbria and Lazio.
The family acquired the property in the 1980’s and in the beginning of the 1990’s started planting their first vines. The most important lesson gleaned from previous stints in Bordeaux was the crucial role played by terroir. In the rough woodland that would become Trinoro, they had the perfect clay-limestone and gravel soils reminiscent of those in Saint-Émilion!
Join Carlo Franchetti for an insightful journey through Trinoro’s top wines including their flagship ‘Tenuta di Trinoro’, each as impossibly plush and refined as the next. These Tuscan treasures will be served alongside the Italian cuisine of James Beard Award-winning Chef, Karen Akunowicz from Boston’s, Fox and The Knife.
