30 Years: Aging Towards Perfection

“The story and history of Pahlmeyer and Wayfarer wines.”

Undaunted by professional admonishments to plant corn instead of red Bordeaux varieties, Jayson Pahlmeyer planted his first vintage of what was to become Pahlmeyer’s signature wine, the Proprietary Red Blend. Anointed 94 points by Robert Parker, the first release, the 1986 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red, launched their astonishing track record of critical acclaim, which has not slowed down since that very first release.

In 2008, Jayson’s daughter Cleo joined the team, bringing the next generation into the Pahlmeyer legacy and launching the Wayfarer brand with wines from California’s Sonoma Coast. Cleo will lead you through a tasting of these iconic wines paired with family stories and background that contributed to the creation of these exceptional and highly acclaimed wines.
