Join Michael Silacci, winemaker at Opus One since 2001 and one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs & James Beard Award Winning Chef Jody Adams for an unforgettable dining experience, story-telling and stunning wines.
Opus One is the realized dream of two men: Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux and Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi. Together, these trailblazers set out to create a single wine dedicated to the pursuit of uncompromising quality. This singular mission shapes every vintage, today and for generations to come.
Guided by the vision of their founders, winemaker, Michael Silacci combines intuition and technical acumen with the dual perspective of viticulturist and winemaker. From tasting berries to careful sorting and extended aging in new French oak barrels, each stage of the winemaking process receives meticulous consideration and attention. After 18 months, the wine is bottled and held an additional 15 months until release on October 1st each year.
The 5-course dinner will feature the cuisine of Boston’s beloved Jody Adams, a James Beard award-winning chef with a national reputation for her imaginative use of New England ingredients in regional Mediterranean cuisine. Jody’s restaurants include the legendary Rialto in Cambridge which she ran for 20+ years and now her lively restaurants, Trade and Porto in Boston. Her style and thoughtful approach to culturally inspired cuisine is timeless.
The dinner will begin with a Champagne and Caviar reception featuring Calvisuis Caviar and Champagne Taittinger and will conclude with a glass of Hugel Gewurztraminer Vendage Tardive.
