Joe Donelan began his journey of wine discovery in the 1980s, led by an inspired sommelier at TOPPER’S Restaurant on Nantucket. His love of wine soon led him on a journey to California, where he established a wine business that is now called Donelan Family Wines. For the Donelans, identifying a top-notch vineyard is like hearing a great song for the first time. It’s immediately identifiable. It has no blueprint for duplication. It won’t let go of you.
From their extraordinary vineyards, the Donelans produce compelling wines year after year, doing their best to read vineyard cues and allow their terroir to shine.
This year Joe and Winemaker David Milner return to the Island that inspired it all and will share new vintages of some of the winery’s classics, along with a special ‘never before’ surprise bottling, of which only 50 cases were produced.
