Max Murphy and his wife, Kenya Medina, founded Tozi Imports in 2019. Tozi Imports is Massachusetts’ only importer dedicated exclusively to Mexican Wine and Spirits. Tozi Imports is also the only importer in the country focused on importing wines from the relatively unknown, high elevation states of Central Mexico, rather than focusing only on the state of Baja California.
Kenya, originally from Ciudad Obregón in Sonora, Mexico, worked as an architect until she moved to Boston in 2015. She handles all of Tozi Imports social media, plans their trips to Mexico, and helps discover new and exciting wineries to work with.. Max spent many years working in restaurants as a sommelier and beverage director. He then worked for a large distributor before leaving to start Tozi Imports. Max has curated Tozi Imports’ portfolio with his restaurant experience in mind, with the goal of introducing the public to some exceptional, and unknown, wines!
