Harbor Gala

The Ninth Annual Nantucket Wine Festival Harbor Gala will feature at least 30 stations, each with a winemaker or winery representative and a restaurant chef (from on or off-island) whose cuisine is chosen to match the wines. This is sure to be the event of the season! The Gala will be held at the White Elephant on Thursday, May 14th, 2009, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

During the Gala, our Silent Auction items will be displayed and available for bidding. The Silent Auction will benefit the Nantucket Historical Association.

[Harbor Gala]The Nantucket Historical Association is dedicated to preserving Nantucket's heritage. With its museums, historic sites, and period houses, the association reveals the way that islanders lived and worked for over 300 years. By touring the properties, visitors see how Nantucket evolved from a small farming community to be the capital of the American whaling industry to a popular resort community. Today, Nantucket is home to the nation's largest concentration of 18th century buildings, miles of pristine beaches, and one of the largest cranberry bogs in the region. The Nantucket Historical Association has been a part of the community since 1894 and strives to preserve, collect, and educate into the island's future.

Tickets are $175 per person.

Nantucket Historical
Association
To understand Nantucket you have to begin with its history.

Let the Nantucket Historical Association be your guide.

The mission of the Nantucket Historical Assocation is to preserve and interpret the history of Nantucket Island in order to inspire island residents, both year-round and seasonal, to shape the island's future with a greater appreciation and respect for their shared heritage, and to foster among all Nantucket residents and visitors a deeper appreciation of the important historical role that the island's people have played in national and world history.
